OUR STORY

It Started With Our Own Children

Before The Little Toy Lab was a business, it was simply us printing things at home for our own children.

One of our children is autistic and finds comfort in fidget toys. In busy or overwhelming social situations, having something familiar to hold and focus on can give him a welcome distraction when the world feels a little too much.

Our other son enjoys fidget puzzles because they help him concentrate and remain settled when we are out and about.

We saw the difference that the right toy could make. That made us wonder why we should keep these creations to ourselves. Other children and families might enjoy them too—especially when they are made by people who genuinely care and understand.

That simple thought became The Little Toy Lab.

Made With Care

We are a small family business, which means the things we make matter to us. Every print is produced layer by layer, finished by hand and carefully looked over before it leaves us.

Some toys are designed by us, while others come from talented independent creators and are printed in line with the permissions attached to those designs. Our children try many of our creations too, and they are never shy about giving us their honest opinions.

3D printing has its own character. Subtle layer lines and tiny variations are part of how each piece is made. We always aim for the greatest care, precision and finish that the technology allows.

We want children to enjoy what we make, and we want parents and customers to feel listened to. We treat everyone with friendliness, honesty and respect.

Every child is different, and there is no single toy that suits everyone. That is exactly what makes creating them so interesting.

If we can make it, we will do everything reasonably possible to bring it to life. If we cannot, we will always be honest and explain why.

The Lab Is Not Only for Toys

Sometimes it is the little plastic piece that has disappeared, the holder that would make life easier or the simple accessory you cannot find in the shops.

Cable clips and cord tidies, phone and controller stands, headphone holders, drawer organisers, key trays, plant labels, dice trays, replacement board-game pieces, hoover attachment holders and common tool adapters are often straightforward to print.

If you already have a print-ready file or a link you have permission to use, send it to us. If not, tell us what you need and include the make and model where relevant. We can carry out a quick search for a suitable design.

We only take on requests where a suitable printable file exists. Some parts are not appropriate for 3D printing, and we will always tell you honestly when something is not suitable.
